[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 08, 2018 – inWhatLanguage, a leading localization and translation technology provider, is offering 13 language service grants available to educational institutions that currently provide English-language learning programs and require professional translation services for instructional classroom materials, critical parent-teacher communications and online academic programs.
The English Language Learners Grant Program, sponsored by inWhatLanguage, has opened the grant application process today. The deadline for applications is March 15, 2018 and all submissions will be reviewed from March 16, 2018 through March 27, 2018. Grants will be awarded on March 30, 2018. The use of grant awards must be used for inWhatLanguage language services by August 30, 2018.
The purpose of the grant program is to meet the language and communication needs of English-language learning students by increasing access to educational information in their native languages. Visit the grant page for information and to submit a grant application.

A total of $20,000 in language services will be awarded through 13 grants, one for $5,000, two grants for $2,500 each and 10 grants for $1,000 each. These grants must be used for translation and localization services provided by inWhatLanguage. The grants are open to public and private institutions for the sole purpose to localize and translate materials and content used specifically for English Language Learner (ELL) programs.
The English Language Learners Grant Program was officially launched at the 2018 National Title I Conference, taking place in Philadelphia, where thousands gathered to address economic, social, emotional, language and learning barriers that challenge students’ right to earn an education.
An English Language Learner is defined as a national-origin-minority student who is limited-English-proficient. According to the U.S. Department of Education, there were 4.6 million English Language Learners in U.S. schools 2014-15, a growing population from previous years. The Equal Education Opportunities Act of 1974 specifically prohibits states from denying equal educational opportunity by the failure of an educational agency to take appropriate action to overcome language barriers that impede equal participation by its students in its instructional programs.
